Semenarna Ljubljana is a company that invests in the knowledge of its employees. In our more than 100-year history, we have proven several times how successfully we use the latest knowledge in the field of genetics and varietal selection in general production practice.

The company cooperates with organisations engaged in seed production, improving its market position in Central Europe and Balkan countries through its own seed trademarks and selected own seed varieties as well as varieties developed together with partner seed companies from the EU and other parts of the world. In the near future, we desire to intensify investments in the research and development of new technologies for the production of competitive and cutting-edge cultivars (hybrids, synthetic varieties, etc.). Production of seed material, such as cereals, takes place in several countries (Slovenia - 850 ha, Kosovo - 600 ha, Croatia - 250 ha). The research and development potential of Semenarna Ljubljana is evident from the numerous patented varieties which were or are still subjected to examination in the Ptuj Selection centre.

In the near future, we desire to intensify investments in the research and development of new technologies for the production of competitive and cutting-edge cultivars (hybrids, synthetic varieties, etc.).

In 2008, the application of an early stage researcher in the economics field who is presently attending postgraduate doctoral studies in biotechnology, was positively evaluated. Several employees are attending postgraduate programmes. Semenarna Ljubljana is a company that invests in the knowledge of its employees.
